Principles of Science are beneficial to democracy

Principles of Science:

• Data collected by measurement is the root of truth. 
• Data collected by measurement is objective (it doesn't matter who collects the data)

Challenge: it's hard to measure everything.
--> Think hard about which parameters are relevant to the specific question being asked

Challenge: measurements depend on time (cultural norms change over time)

Challenge: measurements depend on society (cultural norms vary among groups of people)
