Need a vision and principles

Application of the scientific method to democratic society provides a methodology for (in)validating testable claims. There remains a need to define a vision and decide what principles society operates by.

If vision is not set and principles are left undefined, then society is more likely to respond emotionally to events.

Vision and principles doesn't have to originate from leadership. Vision and principles can be provided to leadership; then the role of leadership is to propagate the vision and principles to society.
