Emotional resonance of Scientific Democracy

The underlying assumption of science is that nature is measurable. These measures are mathematically related, yielding a consistent and universal description of nature.

The motivation for this approach (rather than use some other set of assumptions) is that science is useful for enabling progress. Although resulting technology is easy to observe, there is an emotional basis for choosing science. "Progress" of science is in decreasing suffering of humans.
